All Things Bridal with Terrain & BHLDN: BHLDN

This post is sponsored by BHLDN.

Hi guys!

As promised, here is part two of my feature on Terrain & BHLDN. If you missed Monday’s post about Terrain Gardens or need some serious venue inspiration, click here. Otherwise, you’re probably here for bridal fashion, and that is exactly what I’ll be giving you!

After my tour at Terrain, stylist Lindsey and I headed over to BHLDN. Situated within Anthropologie, you walk up the steps into a beautiful bridal wonderland. (If you want to see the space, check out the Instagram live, which I embedded below.) In case you guys didn’t know, Anthropologie, Terrain, and BHLDN are all under the same Anthropologie & Co. umbrella.

When it comes to shopping at the Devon location, BHLDN features a few “salons” which are the spaces where brides and their guests will be during their appointments. During this time, all BHLDN employees are following safety precautions by wearing masks and gloves, and the stylists don’t accompany you into the fitting rooms. Speaking of the fitting rooms, they are so spacious, which is a major plus if you’re trying on a gown with a voluminous skirt. And just a note for the brides who need to pivot last minute due to COVID, BHLDN stocks their gowns, so if your style and size is available, it can reach you in 3-5 days!

When asked who the BHLDN bride is, Lindsey painted a picture of a unique bride who has a good sense of her personal style. She’s aware of trends but doesn’t feel like she has to follow them, and she leans towards a bohemian aesthetic. Lindsey also pointed out that the BHLDN bride is similar to the Anthropologie customer, so if you find yourself frequently in the fitting room at Anthropologie, you may want to check out BHLDN for your bridal fashion needs when your time comes to say “I do.” Another bonus? BHLDN has a wide variety of only at BHLDN styles that appeal to any bride whether you’re leaning towards a modern, bohemian, or romantic look.

As for what is trending in bridal, Lindsey said the 2020 and 2021 bride is gravitating towards more modern and effortless styles, especially with the current state of weddings. Check out some BHLDN bride faves below!

The Shipley Gown is minimalistic and easy to wear, but when it comes to BHLDN gowns, there is always a special touch that takes it up a notch. Shipley features a beautiful bow on the back, which adds just the right amount of drama while still being understated and chic.

The Sutton Gown has been another favorite of BHLDN’s brides. This satin charmeuse gown has a cowl neck and is super effortless to wear, especially for a more casual ceremony. If you love 90s style, this gown is perfect!

The Dimanche Gown is made of crepe and is sleek and clean in the front with a halter neckline, but has a very unique back! How unexpected is this sheer lace racerback? And you can’t forget the buttons! Such a classic touch.

Another beautiful choice is the Miles Gown, which is made of stretch tulle and features off-the-shoulder sleeves. (You guys know I love a sleeve, so happy they have been trending in recent years.) The stretch fabric allows for ease of movement, and the neckline features a peek-a-boo of lace (another one of those gorgeous touches that make an impact). This style is a favorite of BHLDN brides and of Lindsey as well, although she can’t choose a single favorite gown. But really, you can’t blame her. They are all so gorgeous!

For all of you A-line lovers, the Clarinda Gown is quintessentially BHLDN-esque with interest on top and a dreamy tulle skirt on the bottom. Bonus points for the corset bodice, which is a style element you we will be seeing a lot of for 2021.

For the bride who wants that princess look, the Hemingway Gown features an embellished top and easy tulle skirt, giving you a little bit of drama without being too heavy in the warmer months.

If you’re the bride who loves something classic but a little more modern, the Lawrence Gown is a great choice. It has a soft square neckline, side illusion panels, and an open back. While sweetheart necklines are always beautiful, I am loving the square necklines as of late!

Now for a wow gown! The Kellyn Gown features a cap sleeve and sheer pearl embellished back. I am a ball gown girl through and through but this gown is tempting me! This gown is great for the brides who have a vintage aesthetic.

In case you didn’t know, BHLDN features collections of designers that brides-to-be know and love, including Watters and a special collaborative collection with Hayley Paige (see the gorgeous Topanga Gown below). And if it can’t get any better, BHLDN launched their plus collection in August, which features the same styles that they offer in their standard range, with some gowns featuring added boning to ensure a great fit.

The Samaire Gown features a beautiful off-the-shoulder neckline (so in for 2020 and 2021), and the straps are removable so you can have two looks in one.

If you have a boho bridal style, make sure to check out the Lourdes Gown, which features a stunning removable flutter sleeve and delicate lace appliqués.

While we were taking a walk around, I couldn’t help but notice the Lynette Dress, which is tea length and perfect for the bride who is getting married at city hall or as a second look. I also think this style would be great for a bridal shower, engagement party, or other wedding-related events! It features Swiss dot fabric and pearl embellishments and is available in plus size as well. Lindsey would accessorize this dress with a birdcage veil and a red lip.

Have a romantic yet modern bridal style? The Haven Gown may be for you. This clean style features a cap sleeve, a low lace embellished back, and buttons.

For the bride who loves lace but wants something a little unique, the graphic lace Ludlow Gown may just be what you’re after.

If you’re looking not only for your wedding dress but also shopping for your bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, a second look, or even the honeymoon, BHLDN has you covered. They offer a great range of dresses, separates, and jumpsuits, which are also perfect for the bride who changed her original wedding plans and doesn’t want to reveal her gown until her big party next year. Lindsey pointed out that brides have been drawn to their collection of separates as of late. This is perfect for the bride who wants to make her look unique to her and is fashion savvy. You can mix tops and skirts from fitted to flowy or even throw a skirt over a romper for an unexpected twist (check out the Drew Romper and Winona Overskirt!) Not to mention the tops and skirts have the potential to be worn again after the wedding. And for those of you looking to get a head start on your honeymoon wardrobe, stay tuned because BHLDN is launching a honeymoon capsule this month, which will coincide with styling services and feature swimwear, coverups, and resort fashion.

So with all this talk of gowns you’re probably like, “But can I get my entire bridal look at BHLDN?” The answer is yes! They carry beautiful accessories and shoes. Lindsey told us that lately there has been a lot of interest in veils, particularly styles with embellishments like sequins and lace. She pulled the Roesia Pearl Fingertip Veil, which is so on point for 2020 and 2021. A fingertip length is great for the bride who wishes to wear a veil but wants to keep things effortless. Lindsey pointed out that even though brides are switching their original plans and opting for simple or intimate events, they still want those distinctly bridal touches incorporated into their looks. For the bride who wants a little more drama, this veil is also available in a chapel length. And just a trend alert, pearls have been especially trending as embellishments on gowns and veils and also in jewelry. Loving the Lele Sadoughi Cimarron Earrings below!

Speaking of earrings, BHLDN also carries jewelry online and in-store, so whether you bought your entire look from BHLDN or you just need some last-minute accessories, you can count on them. Pieces at BHLDN start around the $40 price point, so you don’t have to break the bank. They recently launched their Bracelet Bar, which is three bracelets you can mix and match for $58, a great bridesmaids gift that you can customize depending on your bridesmaid’s styles. Believe me, these bracelets are wearable on the wedding day and beyond! If you need help, there are stylists online ready to help via email consultation or a virtual appointment. I’ve picked out a few of my personal favorites below!

In terms of footwear, BLHDN is excited to carry their shoe options in store from more classic styles, to shoes that will add a pop of color to your look. You can shop more shoes online here. Lindsey pointed out that shoes are a great way to incorporate more of your personality and style into your wedding day look.

Now with all of this talk of the bride, you can’t forget about the bridesmaids! BHLDN offers virtual and email consultations for anything from accessories to choosing to your gown or your bridesmaids gowns. This is especially great if you live far from a BHLDN location and plan on shopping online, your bridesmaids are spread across the country, or you want to shop from the safety of your own home. You can book your appointment at BHLDN.com. Lindsey recommends connecting with your bridesmaids via Zoom and then sharing the link to your appointment so you can all have fun choosing their gowns together with the expertise of a BHLDN stylist.

BHLDN is currently featuring gorgeous bridesmaids gowns in charmeuse and velvet, which has become a seasonless choice. When it comes to popular color palettes, Lindsey said that brides are loving neutrals and sunset tones as of late. BHLDN recently brought a beautiful olive green color into the mix, but their jewel tones are always popular as well. If you want your bridesmaids to look cohesive but wear different styles, BHLDN has you covered! Gowns range in price from around $148 - 350 with choices for every body type and budget. The best part? These gowns don’t scream bridesmaid, so you can totally wear them again!

I hope you got your fill of all things bridal fashion in this post! Make sure to check out BHLDN’s spring collection reaching stores in December and to sign up for emails on bhldn.com so you don’t miss a thing! BHLDN’s website features their full selection of gowns, while each store has a curated collection. You can do your homework online, and then book an in-person or online appointment or email consultation to start off your search for your dream dress. For more bridal fashion, sneak peeks, behind the scenes moments, and real bride inspiration, follow along on Instagram @bhldn. And just a little tidbit for my readers, Lindsey also told me that BHLDN launched on Valentine’s Day in 2011, so their 10 year anniversary is coming up. Stay tuned for some exciting things happening soon! Thank you to the BHLDN team for having me and for sponsoring this post and the BHLDN portion of the video. I had a bridal blast!
