NYBFW RECAP PART 1: RISH BRIDAL BOHO+ COLLECTION

NYBFW RECAP PART 1: RISH BRIDAL BOHO+ COLLECTION

Hi everyone!!

I know it’s been a while, but honestly I wanted to wait until NYBFW to post again. And boy was it a NYBFW for the books. Expect quite a few posts coming up because it is one of my favorite weeks of the year. Yes it can be exhausting going from appointment to appointment and from show to show back to back to back, but the gowns are SO worth it. I don’t understand how some of these bloggers and influencers do New York, Paris, and Milan…I would be dead and very hungry by the end haha.

To kick off my NYBFW posts, I am going to go out of order and start with my friends at Rish Bridal. One of my past bosses and dear friends has been friends with Yoav Rish for a long time, and I had the opportunity to help him last year with market appointments (back when I only had 500 Instagram followers…whatttt). If you love boho chic, boho glam, or gorgeous lace gowns in general, this may be the designer for you. Not to mention that the price point is great!

This year, Rish was showing two collections (technically three if you count carry overs, which are styles from last season that are bestsellers). Designers usually offer the carry over styles to show new stockists. It gives them security knowing that these gowns have worked and continue to work for other salons in the past.

But anyway, this year I was so excited to see Rish’s Ray of Light and Boho+ Collections. Again I’m going to go out of order. Can we talk about these Boho+ gowns for a minute? If you aren’t aware, size inclusivity is a huge issue in the bridal world. It has been difficult for so many years for the plus size bride to find sample gowns to try on, let alone a wide variety of gowns. Often for plus size women, designers try to minimize certain areas of the body and load the gown up with structure. And while sometimes that’s great, especially if you love a glam mermaid gown or ball gown, if you’re a boho bride, it just doesn’t make sense. Boho and structure usually aren’t in the same sentence.

So you would think that these gowns wouldn’t fit the body well right? So wrong! I don’t know how Rish got these gowns to be effortless and fit so amazing while being so soft and romantic, but if this is your style, run run run to whatever stockist carries these gowns and try them on. The collection ranges in sizes 24-32, which means any bride can have a Rish gown. In the past year, Rish Bridal has grown significantly with over 30 locations worldwide and available nationwide throughout the United States, which is great news for brides to be. How can you not love the Emma gown shown above? Boho bridal goals! Anyway, I think this post will be solely dedicated to the Boho+ Collection. Stay tuned to see images from the Ray of Light Collection!
