Dinner Time Tunes

Dinner Time Tunes

If you know me at all, you know I am majorly into music! I listen to it while working, working out, just browsing the internet, getting ready, etc. and this post should come as no surprise. Today, I am talking about dinner music during wedding receptions!

While I don’t have that much to say on this particular topic, there are a few things you should keep in mind.

  1. Make sure the music isn’t too loud. No one likes yelling across the table or having to basically stick their entire mouth into the person’s ear that is next to them. #NotCute. Make sure you communicate this to your DJ/band beforehand.

  2. If you have any songs/artists that you don’t like, definitely let your DJ/band know before your wedding (and not like right before, like a few weeks before).

  3. If you do have certain songs you want played or have a specific vibe you’re going for, compile a list and send it over. Make sure to specify the artist if it’s a song that has been sung by many people to ensure that your DJ has the right version.

  4. Remember, this isn’t all about you. I know, so hard to swallow because “it’s my day” but remember, the elderly folks may not want to hear Post Malone throughout the first course, intermezzo, and entree. Make sure to mix it up. Throwing in some classics never hurts! I love when a couple adds in some songs that have meaning. Huge Disney fan? “Married Life” from Up makes for great dinner music!

  5. Check out my Dinner Music playlist on Spotify! While some of these are personal to me (figured I’d get ahead since I’m making this for you), I hope you find some songs you like. A lot are older/classics (think Frank Sinatra), and I will also be moving some to the cocktail hour playlist that I’m creating later, so don’t worry if your faves disappear, I probably just moved them to a different list.

Comment with some of your must-play songs!
